Violence in Bangkok - Please pray

There has been an ongoing situation of political unrest in Thailand that has significantly worsened in the last couple of weeks. If you want to know more about the situation, check out the news story in this link.

There is a great deal of violence going on in Bangkok right now, and the government/military have not been able to fully control the situation despite strict guidelines they have imposed in regard to public meetings. So, we ask for some specific prayers on behalf of the Thai people, our adoption agency staff, all Thai orphans, and specifically, our little boy.

First, we ask that you pray for the Holt (our adoption agency) staff, foster families, and orphans in Bangkok. No one knows what to expect, so I am sure this is a frightening time for them. Secondly, we ask you to pray specifically for the safety of Anderson and his foster family. They reside in the southern part of Thailand, so we are thankful that their safety is not directly impacted at this time. We do not know, though, how a government or military uprising would affect their lives if the leadership of the country was suddenly changed. Lastly, we ask for your prayers for trust and patience in the timing of government approvals and ability to travel. We are greatly concerned about the overall government stability in the country and if it will significantly delay the timing of getting our son. If the situation does not stabilize, we must also consider that it may be necessary to travel without Alex and Aerin due to safety concerns. This has truly been a journey for our entire family, and we hope and pray that all four of us will be able to travel when the time comes. Thank you again for your prayers and support. We love you and ask you to lift this situation and our little boy today as you go before our Heavenly Father.

  1. We prayed for Baby Anderson tonight during Nate's bedtime prayer. We will continue to lift up all of your requests. On a lighter note, I'm so glad to have a friend that's a former English teacher who can spell dyeing correctly!
